IPAB Repeal Passes U.S. House by Large Bipartisan Margin
Thank you to all of the organizations who helped encourage passage of the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) repeal bill (H.R. 849) in the U.S. House today. Please consider thanking those who voted in favor of repeal which were all Republicans and 76 Democrats. The final vote was 307 111. Here is the link to the recorded vote http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2017/roll604.xml.
See the quote from HLC President Mary R. Grealy: “Today’s vote is a bipartisan statement that the Medicare commitment to seniors and Americans with disabilities must be honored. The legislation sponsored by Congressmen Roe and Ruiz will repeal the Independent Payment Advisory Board and the threat it poses to healthcare access. We will be strongly encouraging the Senate to act expeditiously and follow the House’s lead in protecting the health of millions who depend on Medicare.”
Now is the time to contact your Senators and urge them to take action to repeal IPAB.
